artists:

The Smena gallery hosts exhibitions of contemporary art with well-known Russian and foreign artists. Smena also creates an infrastructure for the development of artists from Tatarstan, helping them to find an audience and make their work more recognisable.

New Space is ta collective exhibition of young artists from Moscow and St Petersburg.

All of the participants in the exhibition are engaged in artistic explorations within the medium of painting, sometimes combining figurative imagery with the experience of conceptualism, sometimes going beyond the plane of painting as such. Some of the authors worked at the Vladimir Smirnov and Konstantin Sorokin Foundation's workshop in 2016 as part of the Foundation's residency programme. Others work with the foundation on an ongoing basis, taking part in its exhibition projects
