Does art have the potential for world building, and is it capable of proposing scenarios for overcoming the crisis? Young Russian artists participating in the Re-enchanted address this question in their radical artworks, for contrast placed in lavish interiors of a Moscow-based “Turandot” restaurant,referring to the chinoiserie and tragic comedy of Gozzi's Turandot.

Dream of a halt and a switchman

The Man Who Saw the Fourth Dimension
Michio Kaku, a worldly-renowned scholar and futurist in theoretical physics, has published a book called Hyperspace (1994), which introduces physics that deals with higher dimensions than three dimensions. As quoted from one of the sub-titles in the book, the exhibition explores ways in which the contemporary artists understand, interpret, and imagine their world.

GENERATION XXI. THE GIFT FROM V. SMIRNOV AND K. SOROKIN
The “Generation XXI” exhibition celebrates an important event in the life of the Tretyakov Gallery and its collection. The museum continues to actively form a collection of art of the last two decades. The art fund of 2000–2010 will be based on approximately 150 works presented to the Gallery by Vladimir Smirnov and Konstantin Sorokin.

VDNH - the exhibition of achievements of some artists

Harsh, rhythmically repeated words, which are not addressed to anyone, but time after time, claiming the right to own and manipulate their own, and possibly another’s body, captured attention.

Orgy of things, 7th Moscow biennale of Contemporary Art
The metaphor of sexual emancipation as the title for the exhibition "The Orgy of Things" aim to give "Things" back what was taken away from them by man - freedom. Once it has been created for practical use, the thing - especially in a situation of global overproduction - is no longer so important. It does not have to fulfil its original functions, it has free time - including for orgies.
